Beijing Design Week set out a creative call through which we completed our great creative team.  Daxi was created together with Chinese illustrators and writers from and at the Hu Yu Tang studio. A children’s workshop with young kids inspired the creative team in the process. We made drawings of tigers, bears and panda’s before we decided on the animal for the new character. Two weeks, many drawings, and various versions of the story later we were ready to announce the birth of Daxi!

The new born panda was presented at the Dutch Embassy together with the Beijing Design Week and many beautiful speeches from representatives of UNICEF, Alibaba and the Deputy Ambassador. Chinese media were present and made sure the news of Daxi was quickly spread all over China. Everyone hopes that Daxi will grow up with children in China, bringing great happiness to everyone.
